Humans of Crisp: Sophie Tan

Sophie ‘Soph’ Tan

Sophie is one of our treasured employees at our Crisp Goldsbrough Lane store, only recently joining our team a little over 4 months ago, and has now unfortunately left our roost to follow career passions in Sydney. We sat down with her a little while ago, and here is a small capsule of our conversation with ‘Soph’.

What is your favourite food item on the crisp menu or your favourite creation.

My go to creation is a rice base with a handful spinach, pulled pork, bacon, tomato, fetta, jalapenos, pine nuts, shallots and pesto dressing. (definitely a flavour combination to try- pesto and rice is perfection in our eyes too)

What hobbies do you have outside of crisp?

I love dance! Especially in love with the dance style called Waacking. (For those unaware of this awesome dance style, it’s a 1970’s disco style of dance that heavily consists of rhythmic arm movements over and behind the shoulders.)

What are your future travel plans, and what is your favourite destination?

Travelling is learning about the world, but also about myself;
So far, my favourite destination is Japan. Japan makes me feel like there are endless things to discover. Plus, they make killer desserts.

What is your ultimate favourite food?
You can’t make me choose… Definitely Asian food. Mum’s food.

In your short time are crisp, what are your favourite aspects?

My favourite part about Crisp is the people. It’s a very diverse group in more than one aspect and yet we are pulled together so effortlessly and function as a really good team. Loveliest managers you can find.
